The CTR seminar series welcomes Mr Alan Simpson, Transport Planner with Aberdeen City Council.

"Car Clubs and EVs: How is Aberdeen participating?"

The Co-wheels car club in Aberdeen launched in April 2012. For the private individual, the intention was to give city dwellers a real alternative to owning a car whilst allowing the 32% of people in Aberdeen without a car, access to one. For the Council it also represented an ideal way to cut greyfleet usage, emissions and to make better use of fleet vehicles. Meantime, Aberdeen has been identified as a strategic hub in Scotland’s electric charging infrastructure rollout and is keen to foster an EV culture. The presentation will cover the developments in both areas and looks at how the two may be able to help each other.
