Research Interests

I am interested in understanding how water circulates on land at multiple temporal and spatial scales, and more broadly in the reciprocal influences between climate, land hydrology and ecosystem functioning.

My driving questions include:

  • Where do plants get their water (and how do we tell)?
  • How do plant-water relations shape ecosystem distribution and productivity?
  • How do/will ecohydrological systems interact with global environmental changes ?
  • How can we connect local-to-regional insights to the big picture (and vice-versa)?

To this end, my research methodology has involved modelling- and data-oriented approaches, sometimes merging the two using data assimilation techniques.


Teaching Responsibilities

Training workshop "Introduction to R programming: basic to advanced data manipulation
and plotting applied to environmental sciences" for graduate students, postdocs and researchers. National University of San Luis (Argentina), May 19-23rd, 2014.
