I have interests in the Soil- Vegetation- Atmosphere interactions in terms of wate and energy transport under changing climate conditions.
Subjects in mind for current and future pursuit include:
 Water use by vegetation at ecosystem level and the influence of environmental variables under different/extreme climate conditions
 Impact of land cover and climate change on surface hydrological processes (especially evapotranspiration)
 Understanding and interpretation of vegetation mortality in terms of water, carbon and nutrients condition
 Application of remote sensing for ecohydrological studies
Experimental studies on tree and shrub water uptake in northern high-latitude headwater catchments.
To understand impacts of environmental variables (inclduing temperature, vapor pressure deficit, solar radiation, soil water content) on vegetation water useunder different rainfall regimes.
To investigate how land use change in terms of afforestation/deforestation will affect catchment water fluxes (streamflow).
