Postgraduate Life

Postgraduate Life

As a postgraduate, you are fully integrated into Aberdeen's vibrant academic life. From the beginning of your time at Aberdeen, you are valued as a member of the department and are invited to participate in a range of activities from academic conferences and seminars to more informal discussions with other postgraduates and staff.

As a Geography and Environment student, you will be based at the heart of King's campus in Old Aberdeen, a vibrant melting pot of historic buildings and world-class facilities, such as the University's new Library.

All of our postgraduate students are given office space and access to an excellent central computing service. If you are studying for a Research Postgraduate Degree, you will also be supplied with a personal computer.

Research postgraduate students are often invited to get involved with teaching undergraduate tutorials and lectures, providing crucial experience for CV building.

In addition to your normal course of research, you also have the opportunity to take part in the University's SFRE programme of training in generic skills.

In all, the opportunities provided by University of Aberdeen Postgraduate Degree programmes afford an excellent base for research training and the transfer of ideas, knowledge and experience in a mutually supportive and highly enjoyable environment.
