John W Graham retired from senior management in 2011 and returned to academia. His first degree was BA Hons English Studies (1974), with a special interest in linguistics, creativity and poetry. In 2016 he received an MSc in Archaeology from the University of Aberdeen; his dissertation investigated how changes in Anglo-Saxon burial patterns might be interpreted as signalling contemporary changes in ideas of self.
His archaeological interests include theory, the Middle Palaeolithic, Mesolithic Scotland and early Mediaeval History.
His present research is into the use of digital technologies to investigate changes in attitude towards Neanderthals.
