Dr Sean Semple Senior Lecturer

Dr Sean Semple is the Chief Investigator for the First Steps to Smoke Free study. He is the Director of the Scottish Centre for Indoor Air and a Senior Lecturer in the Respiratory Group at the University of Aberdeen. His research interests include measuring air pollution in both indoors and outdoors and he has been involved in projects to evaluate the effect of smoke-free legislation around the world.

Celia Briffa-Watt First Steps Programme Manager

Celia Briffa-Watt is the First Steps Programme Manager at NHS Lanarkshire and also has a Health Improvement remit within Oral Health Improvement. Celia currently manages the First Steps Programme in Lanarkshire with responsibility for ensuring the programme is fully implemented across maternity and health visiting services with the aim that children born in Lanarkshire get the best possible start in life.

Celia is a registered Public Health Specialist with UKPHR, has a Master's Degree in Health Improvement from University of Edinburgh and over 14 years of experience in Health promotion and improvement at both a national and board level.
