Aberdeen has quite distinctive architecture with its uniform appearance due to the use of granite on many of its buildings. It is fondly called the 'Silver City' due to the buildings sparkling in sunlight due to high mica content in the granite. One famous landmark is the 19th-century Marischal College – a monumental Victorian landmark that’s now headquarters of the City Council.

There links to suggested walks you may enjoy and information on the Tolbooth and Maritime Museums. Entry to both is free.
