Biography

Biography

Wanawan Pragot is a PhD student in Chemical Engineering since October 2017 under the supervision of Dr Waheed Afzal.

She works on “carbon capture and utilization: low-carbon value products from carbon dioxide and brines rich in calcium and magnesium”. Her areas of interest include:

Experimental studies of absorption-based carbon capture processes; Reactive crystallization to produce mineral carbonates with desired crystalline structures and morphologies; Cementising and characterization of mineral carbonates to make blocks, panels, and claddings for construction sector; Solid characterization techniques includes XRD, SEM, compressive strength, thermal conductivity, density, etc.; Life cycle analysis or processes and products

Prior to her PhD studied, she has been a lecturer in the University of Phayao for five years. She has significant earlier experience while conducting life cycle analysis studies of a number of projects in Thailand including Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO).
