Biography

Dr Prashant Jadhawar hold more than 22 years’ experience of teaching (18 years) plus oil and gas industry (4 years) in UK, Germany, Australia and India, with expertise in Enhanced Oil & Gas Recovery (EOR/EGR), CO2 sequestration/utilization, Reservoir Modelling and Simulation, Reservoir fluid characterization and flow assurance, with expertise dissemination at several conferences, invited talks, journal papers and technical reports. In academia, he taught numerous multi-disciplinary Masters level courses: Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS), Reservoir Engineering and  Simulation, PE Reservoir fluid properties, EOR/EGR, Well testing, flow assurance, and Well plugging & abandonment. As a Senior reservoir Engineer EOR (R&D) at Wintershall Holding GmBH, Germany, Prashant worked on surfactant, CO2, low salinity waterflooding EOR application in sandstones and carbonate reservoirs.

In academic programme leadership over 18 years in UK & India, Prashant also played pivotal leading role in the establishment of petroleum engineering programme at the University of Portsmouth, UK (01/2011 to 01/2014) while liaising with SPE London section and oil and gas industries to setup SPE industry-guest lecture series, industry software/laboratory equipment resource worth £4 million; successful establishment of an industry-academia collaboration for teaching and research at University of Aberdeen (since 09/2017); liaising with piping industry (Uhde, Kvaerner, Linde etc.) at MITWPU Pune (Lecturer -Petroleum Eng & Piping Design & Engineering, 05/1997-09/2003).

As a Principal Investigator (PI) and innovator, his research is focused on Hydrogen Innovation: H2 pipeline transport and its TerrWatt (TWh) scale underground (UG) storage in the depleted oil & gas reservoirs / aquifers, alone and/or combined with the Carbon Capture Utilization and storage (CCUS); with funding support from the Net Zero technology Centre (NZTC) & UKCS industry partners in a collaborative consortium.
