Dynamical modelling of Drilling string

Minimizing stick-slip phenomenon using anti stick-slip tool (AST) designed by Tomax drilling

Stick-slip is a severe form of torsional vibration of the drill string caused by an overtorque at the interface between the formation and the drill bit that creates numerous difficulties which can ultimately degrade the safety of the drilling operations. This project is to be conducted with the support of Tomax, a company which has developed an anti stick-slip tool to help improve the downhole stability of the drilling process.
