Engineering PhD Studentship: Cracked structural materials under harmonic loading
Applications are invited for a 3 year Engineering PhD studentship (funded by the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering). This studentship provides full university fees for UK and EU applicants (£3,400 in 2009-10) and a tax-free maintenance allowance at the EPSRC standard rate (£13,290 per year in 2008-09). The studentship is available to start from October 2009 or soon thereafter.
Applicants must hold a minimum of a 2.1 Honours degree, or equivalent, in any branch of Engineering or Applied Mathematics. Those who awaiting degree results and therefore hold a conditional offer of a place will also be considered and will be asked to provide a copy of their degree certificate before the award is confirmed.
The project is likely to involve a combination of analytical studies and computer modelling.
