Immortal Data: From Ancient Egypt to Facebook and Beyond

Thursday 15th November, 19:00 – 20:30, at the Belmont Filmhouse, Belmont Street, AB10 1JS

Join Dr Heather Morgan, Neil Curtis and Andrew Sage to explore how our personal data is captured and used and the question of our consent in this prominent and thorny issue! The event will include an interactive game about personal data and a debate. We will discuss examples of use of personal data from ancient Egyptian mummy of a woman called Ta Cheru, to 20th century American Henrietta Lacks, the source of HeLa cells used in experiments all over the world and beyond.
