The Spurgie

The Spurgie

Wheeler, Les

I'm jist a common spurgie
Ye'll hae seen me in the street
Or peckin in folk's gairdens
Lookin for a bit tae eat.
I hivna funcy feathers
Like some craturs I could name
But I've tae live like ither birds
An my needs are jist the same.
Sae fan the days get cauler
Wid ye think aboot me, please,
An pit some seeds oot on the grass
Or peanuts in yer trees.
