Lecturing and researching in Autism is my passion. I have worked for many years in this complex and fascinating field and have found it highly rewarding both professionally and personally.
I develop and lead autism courses at undergraduate level for students in teacher education and at postgraduate level for practitioners working across autism services. I also research in the field. Currently, I am involved in an exciting interdisciplinary project with young people with autism to develop social skills through imitation and drama.
I am also involved in an initiative to embed autism education across Initial Teacher Education. Recently, I contributed to the development of an international seminar series to audit autism research in Scotland. The series will result in recommendations to inform the Scottish Strategy for Autism. You can read more about some of these ventures below.
