A new initiative was established in March 2013 within the School of Education to bring together academics from a wide range of disciplines from the University of Aberdeen and the Robert Gordon University.
The group known as the Aberdeen Forum for the Child (AFC) comprises members from a range of disciplines across both Universities including education and community learning, psychology, social studies, international children’s rights/law, and health and social care. Their remit is to develop understanding of different perspectives related to research into childhood and youth and to form connections by establishing networks.
A core group has now been established to take forward a common interest in exploring the wellbeing of young people through innovative and participatory research methods. The main group will be reconvened once the project is fully in progress.
