Who is the Programme For?

The programme is suitable for professionals who wish to practice at the cutting edge of their profession.

It will interest those working in youth work, adult learning, community arts  and community development from a wide range of backgrounds including community education, housing, planning, social work and other community linked professions.

Programme Features

This programme offers a work-based route to a professional qualification in Community Learning and Development (CLD), approved by the CLD Standards Council for Scotland.

Participants will study at the same time as being employed or working on a voluntary basis.

A partnership between the University of Aberdeen and CLD Managers, the programme blends the expertise of highly experienced practitioners with the academic expertise from within the university to ensure it is practice focussed, relevant and up-to-date.  Collaboration with the Creative Learning Team, Aberdeen City, and the involvement of a variety of artists sustains the emphasis on creativity throughout the learning experience. The programme integrates theory and practice at the leading edge of the discipline and provides opportunities for participants to contribute to the knowledge and practice base of the profession.
