PhD Title: Investigating the Inter-Relationship between Female Negative Capability, Her Mental Health and Her Creative Process as Self Therapy.

Clare KeastThis investigation will be achieved by defining the term female negative-capability and looking at her mental health and its physical manifestations within that realm. How does she use the processes of creating or doing as self-therapy? What artistic language is she using? Does it have a positive or negative effect? Is it immediate or percolated? Is it important to have an end result or is it just a way of passing time or waiting whilst trying to endure the uncertainty of living with negative capability?

Clare lives in Cornwall with her three boys.

Clare said “I chose the University of Aberdeen because the supervisor was extremely enthusiastic about the project and open-minded to the creative elements of it. Also the embracement of the university to be able to study from a distance and fully utilise online functionality.”
