Geography lecturer co-organises Dagstuhl 'Computational Transportation Science' workshop

Geography and Environment Lecturer Dr Caitlin Cottrill recently co-organised a workshop on ‘Computational Challenges in Cooperative Intelligent Urban Transport’ with colleagues from the University of Augsburg, the University of Örebro, and the Free University of Berlin. The workshop, which took place at the prestigious Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics, brought together researchers from the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, and across Europe. The group discussed computational challenges in cooperative transport ranging from freight transport in urban areas and collaborative planning for public transport trips, to pedestrian planning and modelling, ontologies for smart cities, and potential applications for autonomous vehicles in urban centres. More information on the workshop is available at the Schloss Dagstuhl website.
