Biography: Son of Andrew Cheyne; born 14 December 1852. Arts, 1868-70. M.D. (Edinburgh). F.R.C.S. C.B. K.C.M.G. Consulting Surgeon, Royal Navy, August 1914. Served-Royal Naval Hospital, Chatham and elsewhere. Final rank, Surgeon-Rear-Admiral.
