Biography: Son of William Cheyne; born Lonmay, 3 May 1891. M.A., 1912. Private, 4th Gordon Highlanders, November 1914; attached to 5th Gordon Highlanders. Commissioned, October 1915. Served-Home, 1914-15, 1917-18; France, 1916, 1918. Final rank, Lieutenant.
