Biography: Son of John A. Burnett; born North Dakota, U.S.A., 29 September 1885. Science, 1902-05. Private, Mechanical Transport, Royal Army Service Corps, March 1915. Commissioned, Royal Flying Corps, August 1915 (later R.A.F.). Served—France, 1915, 1916, 1917, 1918; Home, 1918, 1919; Army of the Rhine, 1919. Final rank, Major. M.B.E. Mentioned in despatches, September 1917.
