Biography: Son of Ewen Buchanan; born Barra, Inverness-shire, 13 July 1879. M.B., 1908 ; M.D., 1911 ; D.P.H. (Birm.), 1910. Lieutenant, R.A.M.C. (T.F.), 1914; attached to 1st South Midland Mounted Brigade Field Ambulance. Mentioned in despatches, December 1917.
