Biography: Son of Adam Bruce; born Inverurie, 16 August 1887. M.A., 1908. Pioneer, Special Companies, Royal Engineers, November 1915; commissioned, Royal Garrison Artillery, June 1918. Served - France, April 1916-September 1917, August 1918-February 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant.
