Biography: Son of W. S. Bruce; born Banff, 1 June 1885. M.A., 1907. Private, 1st Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders, U Company, 1903-06. Enlisted, 4th Gordon Highlanders, November 1915; 2nd Lieutenant, January 1916. Served—Home, 2 years; France, 1½ years. Final rank, Acting Captain.
