Biography: Son of William C. Beattie; born Rothiemay, 23 July 1889. M.B., 1912. Acting Surgeon-Lieutenant, R.N., April 1914. Mobilized, August 1914. Served - Atlantic patrol, 1914-15; North Sea, 1915-17; R.N. Hospital, Haulbowline, 1917-19. Final rank, Surgeon-Lieutenant.
