Biography: Son of William Bain; born Aberdeen, 26 November 1881. M.B, ChB 1908. War work - Transport (Horses and Munitions for India), August-December 1914. Private, 3rd Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, 6 May 1915; attached to 76th Field Ambulance, 46th Casualty Clearing Station, 15th West Yorkshire, 19th Durham Light Infantry, 13th V. and L.; commissioned, 7 September 1917. Served-France, Germany, 1915-19. Final rank, Captain.
