Mackenzie, Alistair Campbell

Regiment: The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders

Biography: Son of Donald William and Margaret Mackenzie, Ashley Gardens, Aberdeen ; born Aberdeen, 1918 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. He entered the University to take Economics, and became an enthusiastic member of the O.T.C., distinguishing himself in shooting. In 1939 he was commissioned in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, but later volunteered for Commando duties and took part in the raid on the Lofoten Islands. He lost his life in an accident at Troon, Ayrshire, on 20 August 1941.
