Mackay, John Mair

Biography: Son of Alexander Mackay, late of 9 Admiralty Street, Portknockie, and of Mrs. Anne Mair Mackay who was killed during an enemy air raid on the town ; born Portknockie, 28 February 1922 ; educated at Buckie High School. He began his Arts Course at the University and graduated M.A. in 1942. After graduation he entered the Royal Air Force, and after training was posted to the Far East. He was reported missing in Burma on 20 January 1945 and was presumed to have lost his life then.
