Macaulay, Iain Roy

Biography: Son of Alexander Macaulay and Margaret Violet Macaulay (nee Smith), Ormlie, Ellon; born Ellon, 1921 ; educated at Robert Gordon's College. At the University he took a Science course, and was a prominent figure on the sports field before graduating B.Sc. in 1942. During service with the Royal Air Force he was Navigator of a plane on a high altitude trial flight from Dyce to Stranraer in November 1944. All trace of the aircraft was lost, and he was reported missing and presumed killed.
