Lyon, Charles Anthony

Biography: Son of Major Charles George Lyon and Anna Dorothy Lyon (nee Scott), Whitley Bridge, Yorkshire ; born Leeds, 1923 ; educated at Uppingham School. He entered the Royal Air Force in 1941, and attended a Cadets' course at the University before going to America for training. On his return he became a pilot with Bomber Command, and lost his life in March 1944 when flying a Pathfinder in a raid on Nuremberg.
