Biography: Son of Robert Jolly, Laurelwood Avenue, Aberdeen ; born Aberdeen, 9 February 1905 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. In 1928 he graduated M.B., Ch.B., and after holding assistantships took up practice at Formby, Lancashire. He entered the Royal Army Medical Corps in 1942 and served in Ireland before proceeding overseas. On 7 December 1942 the S.S. Ceramic, on which he was travelling with a hospital unit, was torpedoed, and he was reported missing and presumed killed.
