Griffith, John Llewellyn

Biography: Son of David and Violet Frances Griffith, Feckenham, Worcester ; born 2 October 1923 ; educated at Winchester House and Brackley Public Schools. He entered the Royal Air Force in 1941 and attended a Cadets' course at the University. Becoming a pilot with Coastal Command, he was shot down off the coast of Italy on 9 June 1944. Two days later he was killed while trying to escape from his captors.
