Biography: Son of Alexander Anderson; born Garvock, Kincardineshire, 17 December 1887. M.A., 1909; M.B. (distinction), 1914. A.U.O.T.C. Commissioned, R.A.M.C., 10 October 1914; attached to 6th Queen's Regiment, 150th (Royal Naval) Field Ambulance. Served - Home, 1914-15; France, May 1915-November 1919. Final rank, Major. Military Cross, August 1916. Bar to Military Cross, January 1917. D.S.O., December 1917. Mentioned in despatches, June 1918.
