Biography: Son of the late Alexander Duffus, advocate, Aberdeen ; born Aberdeen, 2 January 1904 ; educated at Aberdeen Grammar School, Fettes College, and Cambridge University, where he took the degree of B.A. in 1926. In 1930 he graduated LL.B. at Aberdeen, and after a few years with a legal firm in Glasgow became a partner in the firm of Wilsone and Duffus. As a territorial officer he was mobilized with his unit, the 75th Field Regiment, at the outbreak of war. He served in France with the 51st Highland Division till the evacuation from Dunkirk. He continued with his unit in this country till he fell ill as a result of his service in France, was invalided out, and died on 4 August 1941.
