Biography: Son of William and Lily Diack, 358 King Street, Aberdeen; born Aberdeen, 1908 ; educated at Robert Gordon's College. He graduated M.A. in 1930 and meant to go on with a medical course but eventually entered the teaching profession and became Science Master at Dunfermline Academy. He was commissioned in the 5/7th Battalion of the Gordon Highlanders. In command of a company which he had trained he fell in action in June 1940.
