Biography: Son of James W. Thomson (sic); born Aberdeen, 13 May 1880. M.A., 1901; B.D., 1906; Brown Divinity Scholar. Private, "U" Company, Gordon Highlanders, 1899-1901. Re-enlisted, October 1915. Private, Officer Training Corps, Inns of Court, 1916; commissioned, 31 January 1917; transferred Machine Gun Corps, Tank Corps Served-Home, 1917; France, 1917-18, Resigned commission, 1918. Final rank, Acting Captain.
