Cowie, Peter

Biography: Son of Peter Cowie, 59 Yardie, Buckie ; born Buckie, 21 January 1915 ; educated at Buckie High School. He graduated M.A. in 1936 and later was appointed to the staff of Portsoy Junior Secondary School. On joining the Royal Air Force he trained as an Observer in Canada. He then served for a time in the Middle East till recalled to Bomber Command in this country. On 11 June 1944 he was reported missing after a raid on marshalling yards near Paris and was presumed killed.
