Biography: Son of William A. Mellis; born Huntly, 17 May 1876. Arts, 1893-94. Mobilized Major, 24 October 1914. Served with, 2/4th, 2/5th, Gordon Highlanders, 114th Training Reserve Battery, Machine Gun Corps Home service, 1914-19. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel. Order of the British Empire T.D.
