Corner, Hugh Wolfe

Biography: Son of William Corner, banker, Inverness and Hedwig Dorothea Corner; born 1898 ; educated at Inverness Royal Academy, served in the first world war with commissioned rank. In 1922 he graduated M.B., Ch.B., and joined the Medical Branch of the Royal Air Force. In 1929 he took the degree of M.D., and later that of F.R.C.P. He was promoted Squadron Leader in 1934. In the second world war he saw active service and in 1942 was reported "missing, believed killed." In a tribute to him in the "British Medical Journal" he was described as "the ideal Medical Adviser to flying men."
