Cormack, Alexander Valentine

Biography: Son of Alexander C. Cormack and Jane S. Cormack, Anderson Drive, Aberdeen ; born Aberdeen, 18 June 1915 ; educated at Robert Gordon's College. In 1935 he graduated B.Sc.(For.) and for some time was a district officer with the Forestry Commission. Entering the Royal Air Force in 1941 and commissioned in 1943, he was for a time on reconnaissance duties over the Atlantic. In the beginning of 1944 he was engaged on special operations, and it was while in action against U-boats in the Bay of Biscay that he lost his life.
