Biography: Son of Robert C. Maitland; born Inverurie, 15 July 1897. Science 1914-16. Private, Army Veterinary Corps, Highland Division Veterinary Hospital, November 1915 ; D/256th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery Served-Home, France, Belgium, 1915-19. Final rank, Sergeant.
