Biography: Son of Charles Mair; born Grange, 12 January 1880. M.A. (I Classics), 1902 ; LL.B. (Ed.). Commissioned, 6th Seaforth Highlanders (T.F.), 1912. Mobilized, 4 August 1914. Served-Home, 1914-15 ; France, Flanders, May 1915-May 1919. Final rank, Captain. Military Cross, June 1917.
