War work-In charge, Temporary Department for propaganda purposes, attached Home Office 1914-15; transferred Foreign Office (Dept. of Information); Assistant Secretary, Foreign Section, Ministry of Information, March 1918; Director, Press Section British Peace Delegation, Paris, November 1918. Prepared Official Summary of Peace Treaty, for Council of Four. Appointed to Secretariat, League of Nations, August 1919. Legion of Honour, 1919. Companion of St Michael and St George, 1920.
