Private, 13th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 26 January 1915 ; commissioned, 27 November 1917 ; attached to 11th, 3rd, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders; 4th Officer Cadet Battalion; 3rd, 25th, Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Served-Home, 1915, 1916-18; France, June 1915-September 1916, May 1918-July 1919; Palestine, January -May 1918. Final rank, Captain.
