Biography: Son of George MacAulay; born Uig, 31 July 1890. Arts, 1913-14. Private, Ross Mountain Battery, 1909; transferred U Company, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 1911; commissioned, 4th Seaforth Highlanders, 17 August 1915. Served-Home, August 1914-15, 1915-16; France, February-April 1915, July 1916-April 1917, October 1917-August 1919. Final rank, Acting Captain. Military Cross, May 1918. Mentioned in despatches, April 1917.
