Biography: Son of James W. McAllan; born Aberdeen, 21 July 1890. M.A., 1911; B.Science (Ed.). M.R.C.V.S. A.U.O.T.C. Trooper, Scottish Horse, September 1914; commissioned Gordon Highlanders, 4 August 1916; transferred to Royal Army Veterinary Corps. Served-Home, 1914-16; North Russia, September 1918-September 1919. Final rank, Captain. Order of St. Stanislav, 1919.
