Biography: Son of Alexander Lawrence; born Macduff, 28 May 1893. Arts, 1911-14, 1919-. Driver, 1st Highland Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps (Territorial Force), 1913. Mobilized; attached to 89th Field Ambulance, Royal Army Service Corps Commissioned, 4th Gordon Highlanders, 19 December 1916; attached to R.A.F. Served-Home, 1914, 1916, 1917-19; Gallipoli, 10 months (1915); invalided; France, 1916-September 1917. Final rank, Acting Captain.
