Biography: Son of Alexander Duffus; born Aberdeen, 6 August 1891. M.A., 1912; LL.B (dist.), 1914. Fettes College O.T.C. Commander, 1st Highland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery (Territorial), May 1911. Mobilized, 4 August 1914. Served-Home, 1914-15 ; France, 1915-19. Final rank, Acting Major. Croix de Guerre with Gold Star, 1918. M.C., January 1919.
