Biography: Son of James P. Kay; born Aberdeen, 2 November 1870. M.A., 1892; B.L., 1895. Commissioned, Royal Artillery, 1900. Mobilized, 1st Highland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, 1915. Attached to Royal Garrison Artillery (2nd in Command Anti-Air Craft Defences, Scotland). Served - France, 1915-16; Home, 1916-19. Final rank, Major.
