Biography: Son of George Johnston; born Savoch, Ellon, 19 August 1879. M.B., 1901; D.P.H., 1904. War work -Civil M.O. 2/1st Royal Field Artillery and German Prisoners' Camps, Newtyle, Forfarshire, 1915-16, 1917-18.
